Campaign theme: Saaristo is a vast maze of islands in the Nordic Baltic Sea, where Finns go to enjoy silence in nature (something they’ve mastered). In a world full of noise, peaceful retreat might just be the best kind of luxury there is. We're looking for someone who deserves some peace and quiet, rediscovery or renewal.
How to Enter: Submit your entry to this Competition and nominate the person who you think deserves this experience via saaristo.fi/island. No purchase or consideration necessary. See rule 4.
Prize: A hosted stay of 4 days/3 nights between 1 August 2026-30 September 2026 for the nominated winner and one adult guest, in a well-equipped cabin on an island in the Finnish Archipelago, including return travel from their country of residence (subject to reasonable travel arrangements). The value of the prize is approximately 4000 euros. No cash alternative. See rule 5.
Winner Selection and Notification: There will be a total of one (1) winner across all countries. The winner will be selected from all valid and legible Entries received during the Competition Period by a panel of judges (including at least one independent judge) appointed by the Organizer during the first week of February 2026. Entries are judged on uniqueness, sincerity, and emotional and narrative strength (i.e. compelling stories). The winner will be notified by email by 28 February 2026. See rule 6.
Winner Promotion: If you are declared a winner, you agree toallow us to use your Entry, your name, country of residence, and or photograph or other likeness, as well as your appearance related on at publicity events without any additional compensation, including that you agree to participate in reasonable promotional activities connected to the Competition, including photography, filming, or interviews. Any such materials may be used by the Organizer for the sole purpose of promoting the winner as a winner of the Competition. See rule 7.

1. Organizer and Purpose
1.1 The “Win a Stay on an Island in Finland” competition (hereinafter referred to as the “Competition”) is organized by Visit Turku Archipelago (VTA), a destination management organization registered in Finland, with its registered address at Eerikinkatu 15, 20100 Turku, Finland (hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer”, "we", "our", "us"). The purpose of the Competition is to promote awareness of the Finnish Archipelago (Saaristo) as a travel destination through a nomination-based promotional campaign.
1.2 These Terms and Conditions (these "Terms") are available online at saaristo.fi/island (the "Website") and they set out our relationship with you, the entrant (“you”, “your(s)”, "entrant(s)") in relation to this Competition.
1.3 By entering this free Competition, you confirm that you: (a) have legal capacity (i.e. that you are over the age of eighteen (18) and have sufficient mental capacity and are entitled to be legally bound in contract) to enter this Competition; and (b) agree to be bound by these Terms (which may be amended or varied at any time by us to ensure the proper and fair administration of this Competition and all such changes will be posted in revised Terms on the Website), and our decisions (which are final in all matters relating to these Terms, this Competition and the winners' selection). No correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
2. Eligibility
2.1 The Competition is open to individuals aged 18 years or older, who are a resident of Finland, the UK or Denmark, have access to the internet and a valid and active email address.
2.2 Employees of Visit Turku Archipelago, its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising or promotion agencies, and members of their immediate families (spouse, parent, child, sibling) or those living in the same household are not eligible to participate.
2.3 Each entrant may nominate one person using the online entry form. See Entry Procedure at rule 4 below.
3. Entry Period
3.1 The Competition opens at 00:00amEastern European Time ("EET") on 24 November 2025 and closes on 31 January 2026 at 23:59 EET ("Competition Period"). Please visit http://www.worldtimeserver.com/ or other world time database to determine local time.
3.2 Entries received outside of the Competition Period will not be accepted under any circumstances. Proof of sending or submission does not constitute proof of receipt.
4. Entry Procedure
4.1 To participate in this Competition, entrants must:
(a) visit the Website directly or via a QR Code on out of home advertisements (at Copenhagen Airport, Kittilä Airport, Rovaniemi Airport, Helsinki-Vantaan Airport and Finnair In Flight -videos) or links in digital advertisements on social media (Meta (Instagram & Facebook), TikTok or YouTube);
(b) complete the online entry/nomination form available on the Website. Entrants may nominate themselves or another individual (a family member or friend); and
(c) provide a written explanation (between 100 characters to 1500 characters only) of why the nominee deserves to win a getaway on an island in the archipelago. (i) who you have nominated and your relationship with your nominee;
(ii) why your nominee deserves some peace and quiet, rediscovery or renewal;
(iii) what your nominee would they like to do on an island in the Finnish coast,
making sure that your submission is unique, sincere and has emotional and narrative strength (i.e. tells a compelling story)
Please do not include any personal data that is of a sensitive or confidential nature, such as detailed information about health or social issues.
("Entr(y)(ies)"). See judging criteria in rule 6 below.
4.2 No payment, purchase, or other form of consideration is required to enter.
4.3 By submitting your Entry, you confirm that:
(a) your Entry is your own original work, you are the sole creator and owner of your Entry, your Entry does not plagiarise other content, you can make it available to us for this Competition;
b.) your Entry does not include include any detailed personal data such as a full adress, phone number, or their full name if you are nominating someone else than yourself to win the prize. Your Entry does not in any case include any personal data that is of a sensitive or confidential nature such as detailed information about health or social issues.(b)your Entry does not contain any images, artwork, music, brands or other content which:
(i) does not belong to you; and/or
(ii) features or infringes upon any third party rights, including without limitation, brand names, trade marks, copyright or privacy or publicity rights; and/or
(iii) contains any viruses, spyware, malware, or other malicious components that are designed to harm the functionality of a computer and/or websites in any way; and/or
(iv) is unlawful, offensive, discriminatory, defamatory, derogatory or otherwise inappropriate material; and
(v) you have not submitted your Entry (in whole or in part) to other companies or competitions.
4.4 Entries that contravene one or more of the provisions of rule 4.3 will be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Organizer.
4.5 There is a total limit of one (1) entry per person.
4.6 By entering this Competition and submitting an Entry you agree that such Entry, including without limitation the explanation contained in your Entry, but excluding any personally identifiable information as identified in the Organizer’s Privacy Policy (https://saaristo.fi/privacy-policy) is deemed to be non-confidential and non-proprietary, and we shall have no obligation of any kind with respect to such Entry.
4.7 Any use by you of identities other than your own and any attempt by you to obtain more than the permitted number of Entries (see rule 4.5) by using multiple/different email addresses, and/or any other methods, will void all of your Entries and you may be disqualified from this Competition. Winners may be required to show proof of being the authorised account holder.
5. Prize Description
5.1 There will be a total of one (1) winner across all countries and the prize consists of a hosted stay for the winner and one (1) adult guest and (18 years or older) on an island in the Finnish Archipelago, Finland.
5.2 The prize includes:
- a 4 day/3-night stay on one of the islands, such as Kemiönsaari, or islandsin proximity to the Korppoo, Rymättylä or Nauvo islands between 1 August 2026 and 30 September 2026.
- Return travel from the winner’s country of residence to Finland comprising of return economy flights an international airport near the winner's residence to Helsinki or Turku airport, Finland and local transfers between Helsinki or Turku airport, Finland and the island. Flights, airlines and transfer to be determined at the Organizer's sole discretion.
- Accommodation on the island to be selected in the sole discretion of the Organizer; Two-bedroom (double bed in each room) accommodation on the island at a well-equipped self-catering cabin to be selected in the sole discretion of the Organizer.
- The cabin is private and not a part of a cabin village or a resort. The cabin property includes these amenities: toilet, kitchen, cooking basics, oven, microwave, coffee/tea maker, stove, refrigerator, outdoor grill, barbeque utensils, heating, air conditioning, internet/Wifi, TV, linens, towels, seaside sauna, patio or balcony, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, First Aid Kit, Fire Extinguisher, Free parking, access to local services either by a boat or a car transfer service provided by the organizer of the competition
- Pre-arranged program activities as determined by the Organizer. See example itinerary. Our representative will liaise with the winner to confirm the itinerary, which will include two or three meals a day (depending on arrival and departure times). The meals will (at the Organizer's selection) either be delivered to the cabin or at a local dining establishment (which shall be chosen by the Organizer and be subject to a per person cap and exclude the cost of alcohol). The Organizer will also offer certain activity options to be included in the prize. To the extent that meals at local dining establishments and activities are included in the prize, the Organizer will also make arrangements (at the Organizer's reasonable cost) for ground transfers to and from the cabin and a host or tour guide (as relevant, at the Organizer's sole discretion). In the event that the winner and their guest wish to add any additional meals, beverages and activities, they are free to do so at their own cost and responsibility. The Organizer shall not be liable for the cost of or arranging such additional meals, beverages and activities or any related transportation.
5.3 The prize consists only of the elements expressly set forth herein. The prize does not include any other elements or expenses (including, without limitation, personal travel insurance, meals, beverages not specified in the itinerary, ground transportation in the winner's home country between the winner's residence and the airport and any other unspecified ground transportation, phone calls, gratuities, incidentals, souvenirs, gasoline, or any additional personal expenses).
5.4 The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and has no cash equivalent. The Organizer reserves the right to substitute the prize with an alternative of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond its control make this necessary.
5.5 Prizes are subject to supplier terms and conditions, including without limitation conditions of carriage for flight and other transport providers, hotel, restaurant and tour/activity provider terms and conditions.
5.6 A personal credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required by the hotel or tour/activity provider for incidental charges and personal expenses.In the event the personal credit card or cash deposit is required by the hotel or other prize providers, prize winner will be solely responsible for supplying such personal credit card and or cash deposit and for all personal expenses / incidental charges not included as part of the prize.
5.7 A representative of the Organizer will liaise with the winner during the [fourteen (14) daysfollowing the winner's prize acceptance to confirm the prize dates, details and bookings.]
5.8 The trip must be taken between 1 August 2026 – 30 September 2026 ("Travel Period"). If the winner cannot travel during the Travel Period, the prize will be forfeited without compensation of any kind, and an alternate winner may be selected as per rule 6.6.
5.9 Flights and accommodation are subject to availability.
5.10 The winner and their guest must travel together on specified itinerary as set by the Organizer, including same departure date, destination and return date or the prize may be forfeited in its entirety.
5.11 No responsibility is assumed by the Organizer for any cancelled, delayed, suspended or rescheduled flights or events once any tickets have been issued in relation to the prize for any reason whatsoever beyond its control.
5.12 Flights and accommodation are not eligible for reward points and cannot be combined with any reward points, vouchers or other offers.
5.13 The prize value is approximately 4000 euros.
6. Winner Selection and Notification
6.1 The winner will be selected at the Organizer's offices from all valid and legible Entries received during the Competition Period by a panel of judges (including at least one independent judge) appointed by the Organizer during the first week of February 2026 based on the criteria set out at 6.2. An independent judge is someone who is unconnected to the promotion and the Organizer. For example, any employees, officers of the Organizer or prize providers and anyone involved in advising on or administering the promotion would not be considered independent.
6.2 Entries will be assessed according to the following criteria:
- Uniqueness (30 points);
- Sincerity (30 points); and
- Emotional and narrative strength (i.e. tells a compelling story) (40 points).
In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken based on the highest Emotional and narrative strength score. In the event a tie remains after applying this tiebreaker, the tie will be broken based on the highest Sincerity score. In the event a tie remains after applying this tiebreaker, the tie will be broken based on the highest Uniqueness score. In the event a tie remains after applying this tiebreaker, an additional independent judge appointed by the Organizer will determine the winner between the tied entries based on the judging criteria.
6.3 The decision of the judging panel is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the results.
6.4 The selected winner will be notified by email by 28 February 2026.
6.5 The winner must confirm acceptance of the prize within 14 days of notification. Failure to respond within this timeframe will result in forfeiture of the prize, and the Organizer may select an alternate winner which shall be the entrant with the next highest score using the judging process detailed in rules 6.1 and 6.2.
6.6 We also reserve the right in our sole and reasonable discretion to disqualify any entrant who:
(a) cannot be contacted after two (2) attempts within three (3) business days; and/or
(b) we have reason to believe has breached any of these Terms; and/or
(c) corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition.
In the case of such disqualification, the winner forfeits the prize and we reserve the right to award the prize to an alternative winner from all remaining valid and eligible Entries, which shall be the entrant with the next highest score using the judging criteria detailed in rule 6.2.
6.7 If you are declared a winner, you may be required to present valid personal identification documents to prove your identity and age.
7. Prize Conditions
7.1 The winner and accompanying guests must possess valid travel documents (passport and visa, if required) permitting travel to Finland.
7.2 Entrants are solely responsible for arranging appropriate travel insurance covering the duration of the trip.
7.3 If you are declared a winner, you agree toallow us to use your Entry, your name, country of residence , and or photograph or other likeness, as well as your appearance at publicity events without any additional compensation, including that you agree to participate in reasonable promotional activities connected to the Competition, including photography, filming, or interviews. Any such materials may be used by the Organizer for the sole purpose of promoting the winner as a winner of the Competition. For the avoidance of doubt, we shall not be obliged to use, distribute or publish such content in any form and any use of such content shall be at our sole discretion; we shall have sole editorial control over any uses of such content; and you shall have no approval rights.
7.4 We may also seek your consent if to use your winning Entry and/or any such appearances at publicity events, photography, filming, or interviews in whole or in part ("Your Contribution") of or with you for our marketing and promotional purposes, without compensation. This is not a condition of Entry and does not increase your chances of winning the Competition. Such consent is optional.
For residents of the UK: In the event that you agree to grant us consent to use Your Contribution upon our request in accordance with this rule 7.4, you agree to sign a consent and release form granting us an exclusive licence to use Your Contribution worldwide in any media for a period of [five (5) years] from the date of signature for our marketing and promotional purposes, without compensation.
7.5 The Organizer reserves the right to modify or terminate the Competition early in the event of misconduct, fraud, or violation of these Terms. In the event that the Competition is terminated early, the Organizer shall select a prize winner from among all valid and eligible Entries received prior to such termination. In no event will more prizes be awarded than are stated in these Terms.
8. Liability
8.1 The Organizer shall not be held responsible for any injury, loss, or damage arising directly or indirectly from participation in the Competition or acceptance of the prize, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
For residents of the UK and Denmark: For the avoidance of doubt, in respect of UK entrants nothing in these Terms limits or exclude the Organizer's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud or any fraudulent misrepresentation.
8.2 The Organizer is not responsible for any technical or system errors affecting entry submission, nor for any force majeure events including but not limited to strikes, weather, pandemics, or transportation disruptions.
8.3 We accept no responsibility for any illegible or incomplete Entries or any incorrect or inaccurate information or lost or late Entries; any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by the winner due to entering this Competition and/or accepting the prize; and/or any error, omission, interruption, delay, technical or transmission failures, virus, bugs or other causes beyond our control, which affect the administration of this Competition.
9. Taxes
9.1 The Organizer will declare the prize value for administrative purposes.
9.2 Any personal tax obligations arising in the winner’s country of residence are the sole responsibility of the winner.
10.Personal Data
10.1 By submitting the nomination form, entrants confirm consent for the storage and processing of their personal data as specified in the Organizer’s Privacy Policy (https://saaristo.fi/privacy-policy). We will use your personal information for the purposes of your entry into this Competition, to conduct and administer this Competition and to inform Entrants, upon request, of the winners' details (in accordance with rule 11) and fulfilling prizes.
10.2 If we do not collect your personal information, you will not be able to submit a valid Entry into this Competition or claim your prize. We may disclose this personal information to third parties for the sole purpose of processing and conducting this Competition.
10.3 After the Competition Period and after a winner has been selected, we may contact entrants, including the winner to seek your consent to use the content in your Entry for our marketing and promotional purposes, without compensation. This is not a condition of Entry and does not increase your chances of winning the Competition. Such consent is optional.
For residents of Finland: You shall grant an exclusive and perpetual right and license for the Organizer to use the Entry in whole or in part in its marketing purposes for no cost.
For residents of the UK: In the event thatyou agree to grant us consent to use your Entry upon our request in accordance with this rule 10.3, you agree to sign a consent and release form granting us an exclusive licence to use your Entry worldwide in any media for a period of [five (5) years] from the date of signature for our marketing and promotional purposes, without compensation.
11. Winners' List: The name of the winners and their home city will be available for thirty (30) days after the end of the Competition Period by sending an email to info@visitturkuarchipelago.fi.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
12.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Finland.
12.2 Any disputes arising from or in connection with this Competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Finnish courts.
12.3 For residents of the UK: Notwithstanding rules 12.1 and 12.2, entrants from the UK shall still benefit from any mandatory local law protections provided to consumers under the law of their jurisdiction (England & Wales; Scotland; Northern Ireland) and have a right of recourse to the relevant regulatory authorities in the UK.
For residents of Denmark: Notwithstanding rules 12.1 and 12.2, entrants from Denmark shall still benefit from any mandatory local law protections provided to consumers under the law of their jurisdiction (Denmark) and have a right of recourse to the relevant regulatory authorities in Denmark.
