Whether you're looking for locally produced souvenirs, Nordic design or high-quality second hand boutiques, Turku and the surrounding archipelago bring together the best of Finnish style in one place.

The Turku region offers a wide range of shopping experiences, from well-known brands like Finnish Design Shop, Iittala and Marimekko to independent boutiques, second hand stores, handmade goods and small island shops.

Shopping in Turku

Turku is full of shops and boutiques to explore. Well-known hotspots of Nordic design such as the Finnish Design Shop near the airport, Marimekko in Hansakortteli shopping mall, and PUF by the river, offer scandi-style homewear and fashion.

Visit scent design house Hetkinen for a variety of natural scents inspired by Finnish nature in the form of soaps, candles and perfumes. Along the Aura River, small boutiques, second hand shops and local studios invite you to explore. In the Turku Market Hall, you can taste traditional local flavors and bring a piece of Saaristo home.

Turku is compact and easy to explore on foot, making shopping feel relaxed, not rushed. Between stops, sit by the river and watch the city life.

Local specialties

At Turku Market Hall you can meet local producers selling archipelago bread, handicrafts, and handmade treats. Walk around in the city centre and by the river and look for small design studios and boutiques offering ceramics, textiles, and woodwork inspired by island life.

You can visit Turku Art House to visit local galleries and artists' workshops.

Saaristo hidden gems

When venturing out into the archipelago, quiet streets and island harbors, small shops and cafe’s offer something different: visit for example Nauvo Guest Harbour. On the islands, many products come directly from family-run businesses, where the maker might be the one welcoming you in. For example in Kustavi, you can visit the Kustavi Handicraft Village and choose a ceramic souvenir with a unique story.
